We reach out to you with a profound sense of urgency and sorrow, seeking your generous support for the Hindu communities in Bangladesh who are enduring an unprecedented wave of violence and persecution. Since 1946, Hindus in Bangladesh have been the target of brutal attacks during political upheavals, suffering from heinous crimes including manslaughter, rape, looting, and relentless persecution. Today, the scale of these atrocities rivals the horrors of 1971.
Hindu temples across the country have been desecrated—attacked, torched, and vandalized. Innocent people have been murdered, women have been subjected to unspeakable violence, and properties including jewelry, money, shops, and businesses have been looted and destroyed. In some regions, perpetrators are demanding ransom for protection and openly threatening everyone in broad daylight. Many Hindu families, gripped by terror, have fled their homes, seeking refuge at the India-Bangladesh border. Others are in hiding, fearing for their lives. Communities are banding together at night, patrolling their neighborhoods, yet the fear is palpable—sleepless nights and anxious days have become the norm.
In these dire circumstances, the Gaur-Mandal Foundation in USA (registered in Texas as a charitable organisation) has stepped forward with a mission to raise international funds for the restoration and renovation of the Hindu temples that have been devastated in this ongoing communal violence. We have identified several temples in urgent need of support, including the temple in Demra (Dhaka), Kantaji Temple (Dinajpur), ISKCON Meherpur, Feni Durga Temple, and Pirojpur Sarbajanin Temple.
